This Summer, the University of York's Opera Society re-imagines this classic fairy tale through the eyes of a WWII veteran. Alone in his bookshop, our soldier reads 'Cinderella' whilst reminiscing about his war time romance. The stories merge as they are played out on stage against a backdrop of '40s Britain and the music of Jules Massenet.

On Friday 20th June 2014 at 7pm in The Grand Opera House, our 47 piece Orchestra will play their first notes, the red velvet curtain will rise and Cendrillon will begin!
